Maptek™ is the world leader in developing industry-leading software for mine evaluation, planning, design, scheduling, operation and rehabilitation. Our integrated 3D laser scanning, survey and imaging hardware and software can be applied to geotechnical analysis, stockpile measurement, design conformance and movement monitoring. Vulcan is the world’s premier 3D mining geological modelling and mine planning software for validating and transforming geospatial data into dynamic 3D models, accurate mine designs and operating plans. The Vulcan Core Technologies Team is a dedicated team responsible for planning, communicating and executing large scale infrastructure projects that are necessary for ensuring future viability of the Vulcan codebase and product.

We are growing the Adelaide development team and are looking for a Software Engineer with C++ experience. As a key developer on Vulcan Core Technologies, you will make lasting contributions to the code foundation used by Vulcan, including high performance 3D graphics and visualisation, data access and manipulation APIs and more. You won’t be doing this alone – you’ll have the full support of the your Core Technologies peers as well as  the wider Maptek developer community in Adelaide, Sydney and around the globe. This position comes with some travel opportunities to help expand your knowledge.

Core responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the Vulcan core technology infrastructure
  • Work closely with other Maptek developers within Vulcan Core Technologies, global Vulcan applications teams and the wider Maptek developer community
  • Work closely with the Mine Planning Product Manager and Technical Services teams

Knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Bachelor degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent Maths, Science or Engineering degree
  • Proficient in C++ and OO programming
  • 3D programming experience highly regarded
  • Organised, accurate, innovative & highly motivated with close attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills & ability to work in a team
  • Ability to travel
