Technology adopters are winners

Introducing the I-Site 8800 laser scanner

The I-Site 8800 represents the new generation of long range laser scanning. Maptek’s latest survey system captures data from as close as 2.5 metres up to 2000 metres at 8800 points per second. The integrated 70 megapixel camera allows panoramic colour imagery to be recorded at the same time as scanning. Ergonomic design, motorised telescope, automatic backsighting, 1 button registration and advanced software modelling tools round out the new survey solution.

 

MineSuite business value

Following successful implementation at Beeshoek iron ore mine, MineSuite will be installed at the Khumani mine in the Northern Cape province in South Africa. Maptek’s partner in Africa, MinLog, reports on how a phased and customised approach will ensure the technology solution is scalable as Assmang expands production.

 

A new slant on stratigraphic modelling

HARP modelling provides the best technique for accurate modelling of coal seams. Maptek provides the geologist with tools for interpreting and interpolating coal horizons use drillhole and downhole geophysical data. Identifying and understanding the thickness and quality of coal seams is vitally important in terms of optimising overburden removal, and mining and storing waste safely and economically.
