Vulcan workshop for New Zealand miners

Friday, September 12th, 2014

Maptek presented a short course to engineers and geologists as a part of the 2014 AusIMM New Zealand Branch Annual Conference in Hamilton recently.

Richard Jackson conducted the two-day workshop which introduced attendees to resource modelling. The course referenced examples from both stratigraphic and metalliferous deposits.

‘There’s no denying that the mining investment cycle is at a low point. Maptek and organisations such as AusIMM are keen to ensure the mining workforce remains proficient for supporting industry when the global economy picks up,’ said Richard Jackson, Vulcan Technical Services Consultant at Maptek.

‘Attendees were grateful for the opportunity to maintain their professional development by practising the latest mining software methods,’ he concluded.
