I-Site site efficiency

BHP Billiton Spence in Chile is using the I-Site 8800 laser scanner at its open pit, heap leach pad copper project. Since implementing the latest technology to monitor reclamation volumes, more accurate reconciliation has been achieved.

Structural coal model

By using a structural model derived from multiple data sources, underground planners at a Colorado coal operation were able to mine more coal than previously expected. Drillholes, seismic, mine workings, croplines and intuitive geological interpretations all have a part to play.

Thar lignite feasibility

This case study describes how Vulcan was used for resource estimation and technical analysis of a stratigraphic deposit. Geological interpretation tools are a powerful means for visualisation and 3D data interpretation.

Maptek I-Site 8400 scanner

The new I-Site 8400 laser scanner is ideal for routine survey applications. Measuring stockpile volumes, surveying open pits and updating 3D models has never been so easy. The lighter, mid-range scanner has a range of 1000 metres.

Users conferences

The Europe-Africa and South America users conferences drew Maptek customers and staff from around the world. Conference details have been anounced for Australia in May; with dates for North America set for 24-26 October 2012. Book soon to avoid disappointment.

Global services and office news

A new Maptek office has opened in Calgary, Canada, with a focus on I-Site consulting and support services. Intensive courses in Applied Geostatistics are being offered in three offices in 2012. We hope to meet you at one of the tradeshows we'll be attending during the year.
