Please follow the steps below to join the internal beta test, and try the new technologies.
This beta test is open to all Maptek staff, including staff who don't usually do software testing. The new features we want you to test will make software access and licensing easier than ever, so the more people who try it the better prepared we'll be when this goes live to customers next year.
The products we’re asking you to test are scheduled for release in July 2018. Between now and release, there’ll be regular updates with new features as they come online. This will also allow us to further test the download capability.
Maptek Workbench is now a standalone product. This is how Maptek customers will launch and start using all of our software applications in the future, so this is a great opportunity to test it and see how it works.
Note the initial download of the Workbench will only work within Maptek offices.
After installing run the Workbench from the desktop. You will be presented with a start page asking you to create your Maptek Account. This will take you to a webpage where you can create your Maptek Account.
Maptek Account, pioneered in Eureka, is now sufficiently advanced to be used in all of our products. In fact it is now starting to be a hub for many services. Create your Maptek Account, and then use it to sign in to the Workbench.
Once you have signed in the Workbench will automatically download and install PointStudio 8.0 beta and Eureka 5.0.
Future product version releases will also automatically download and install, making it easier to stay up to date.
During this process, you may need to restart the Workbench. If you see a product or add-on that says “Update pending Workbench restart”, then either manually close and rerun the Workbench, or select “Update and restart” from the Maptek “M” menu. This may take up to a minute.
Technical issues mean that Vulcan is not yet downloadable, so for Vulcan please use the installer at "Maptek_Products\Vulcan\Vulcan 11.0\UpdateService" on your local network.
Maptek Account online licensing may be used to run Vulcan, PointStudio and Eureka.
You’ll have access to Vulcan, PointStudio and Eureka. Only a subset of Vulcan add-ons are enabled for everyone. If you need access to other add-ons, please contact both of the representatives for your region:
PointStudio 8 is integrated into the Workbench, and makes use of a ribbon - a first for PointStudio and the Workbench. The ribbon is designed to make learning and using PointStudio a much better experience. Details on what’s new in version 8 can be found in the release notes, which are shown within the Workbench.
The Workbench workflow editor tool should be tested to create workflows using Vulcan, Eureka and PointStudio features.
The Contact Maptek feature appreciated by PointStudio, Eureka, BlastLogic, PerfectDig and Sentry
users for many years is now an integral part of the Workbench. Find it in the “
”
menu in the Workbench title bar, and use it even when no applications are running. Attach relevant
data and manually crop screenshots before sending.
The more testing you can fit into your schedule, the better our released products will be.
