This session will focus on concepts and challenges around optimisation, phasing and long-term scheduling.

GEOLOGY – The Journey of Geological Modelling

A broader talk on the journey from explicit modelling to AI-driven processes, covering how new technologies have revolutionised the field and the challenges ahead.

Morning, Session 2 (11:30 – 13:00)

ENGINEERING – Practical design & medium-term preparation

We will discuss turning strategy into executable pushbacks and structured inventory, with a focus on practical case studies, key challenges that our customers face in their operations and how to address them.

GEOLOGY – Resource Estimation 101

Covering the basic principles of resource estimation and the attributed tools available in Maptek Vulcan. We will present cases where we quantify the effect of using unfolding, soft boundaries, or high yield versus not.

Afternoon, Session 3 (14:00 – 15:30)

ENGINEERING – Execution & short-term control 

We will analyse flitching, dilution control, survey updates and activity-based scheduling with reference to practical case studies.

GEOLOGY – Grade Control Integration

This session will cover the basics of our grade control and grade control optimiser, and how to integrate this module with machine learning and Power BI dashboards.
