Monday, May 29th, 2017

Maptek presented a full day workshop to existing and potential customers on the new features and benefits in upgrading to the recently released Vulcan 10.1 software in Beijing, China.

Maptek was accompanied by geologists and mining engineers from local software distributor, Shanghai Pioneering, and their customers MinMetals, Pangea Gold, China Gold and Sinotec.

New functionality in Vulcan 10.1 streamlines design and planning, optimises drill & blast and improves reporting and analysis of data.

Automated Pit Designer is easier and faster to use, Vulcan Data Analyser boasts new statistical, graphing and display options and open cut drill & blast, dragline and stope optimiser tools have been enhanced. Graphics driver updates allow even larger datasets to be handled efficiently and speed has been enhanced for editing and interpreting designs.

Vulcan 10.1 was delivered on an updated Maptek Workbench in a shared environment with Eureka 4 in May. Improved workflows, data sharing and access to multiple applications on a single interactive platform represents the Maptek approach to supporting robust mining processes.
