Are you ready to understand the new requirements in Regulation S-K 1300? This course will help you prepare.
Starting January 1, 2021, all U.S. registered mining companies must be in compliance with SEC Regulation S-K 1300.
This course will guide you through the new requirements for technical studies so that you can be ready for Regulation S-K 1300 when it comes into effect in January.
Dr. Kwame Awuah-Offei, professor and interim director of mining engineering at Missouri University of Science & Technology (Missouri S&T), recently served as a mining engineering academic fellow at and expert consultant to the US Securities & Exchange Commission to help the agency update mining property disclosure rules in Regulation S-K; on October 31, 2018 the SEC adopted those amendments.
December 15th - 18th, 2020*
8:00am - 12:30pm (30 minute break)
* This course will be held remotely
$1,000 USD
Registration deadline:
December 1st, 2020
This course will cover the expectations and requirements of mine technical studies under the SEC’s Regulation S-K 1300. S-K 1300 specifies three studies: initial assessments, pre-feasibility and final feasibility studies that a qualified person must use to support public disclosure of mineral resources and mineral reserves. This course provides an overview of the technical studies, requirements of the technical report summaries, and hands-on tips for conducting key parts of the analysis using commercial mine planning software.
At the end of this course, participants should be able to: (i) explain to their peers S-K 1300’s requirement for technical studies; and (ii) act with the highest professional and ethical standards when conducting studies to support disclosure of mineral resources and reserves.
This course is designed to help geoscientists and mining, geological, metallurgical and other engineers, who are or may be involved in mineral exploration or technical studies, to comply with ethics and regulatory standards (particularly, US Securities and Exchange Commission’s Regulation S-K subpart 1300).
