The Maptek Chile sales team recently participated in the Mining Exposition ATEXPO 2012. This expo takes place in the city of Copiapó, in northern Chile, and aims to generate commercial interaction – not only with mining companies of the Atacama region, but also with companies that provide various products and services.
We had a booth and also participated in the Business Rounds. ATEXPO 2012 organized a Business Roundtable where major mining companies were present. It supported two main themes: Goods and Services. With our wide range of solutions to the mining industry, we had the opportunity to participate and meet with many of the mining companies that attended.
Visitors to our booth were not only existing users of our products and services, but also professionals belonging to junior enterprises, academic universities and even industrial school students.
Along with our participation in the expo, our team also had the opportunity to conduct site visits to our customers and prospects, allowing us to show the new tools available in Vulcan and I-Site… Meaning, ATEXPO was a great way for us to get in touch with our users in the area!
The show also exhibited a special stand that stole the attention of the audience. For the first time, some of the 33 Chilean miners decided to participate in an expo and set up a stand to tell their story in-person. They had the famous Fenix capsule, provided by the Regional Museum of Atacama, to exhibit at the expo. The booth was one of the most visited, and they did a tribute to each of the companies that attended to their rescue, including Maptek, which is a source of pride for us. Watch the video here.
ATEXPO 2012 is a very important event for Maptek, as it allows us to expand our reach to existing and potential customers. I also believe it confirms Maptek products and services as leaders in the everyday lives of engineers and geologists.
