Mining World Russia 2012

As a part of the Austmine delegation Maptek recently attended Mining World Russia at the Crocus Centre in Moscow. Maptek was represented by General Manager, Duncan Lee, I-Site Sales Manager, Graeme Cowie, and myself. This was the second year that we attended this event and once again there was a steady stream of knowledgeable mining professionals visiting the Maptek booth.

In addition to the trade show, we attended a number of other events to help promote our technology. Maptek co-sponsored a social event at the PwC office in Moscow, where Austmine companies had the opportunity to mingle with mining professionals from some of Russia’s most successful mining companies. The Austmine delegation was greeted openly by everyone we came across along this trip.

Similar to other mining regions around the world, Russia is continuing to experience strong growth in the mining sector. Great efforts are being made to continually improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the local mining operations. New technologies on show by the Austmine delegates, including Maptek, represent an important aspect of future advancement in Russian mining.

The local mining professionals display an insatiable appetite for knowledge and a thorough understanding of the key features of Maptek’s products. From a high-level perspective, one clear thing is that when compared to products currently available within the Russian market, Maptek products represent technological advancement. The great breadth of features available from Maptek Vulcan and I-Site are unmatched by products in their respective product places. Our trip to Moscow was a fantastic opportunity for us, and the Russian mining industry, to see exactly where Maptek can offer improvements to the systems that are currently in place.

Our visit to Moscow was once again a fantastically valuable trip. As our Africa and Europe region continues its strong customer growth we’re looking forward to increasing our customer base amongst Russia’s prestigious mining companies – both in Russia and throughout the world.
